Chubby Checker to Twist for Local Animal Rescue – Howard Perl Productions
Rescue Village introduces groundbreaking concert event
On Saturday, January 10, Chubby Checker will headline Cleveland’s first-ever animal-rescue concert at the Hard Rock Rocksino, Northfield Park. The evening, titled “Rock and Roll to the Rescue,” will raise funds for the homeless dogs, cats, horses and other animals of Geauga County Humane Society’s Rescue Village.
The three-hour spectacular promises to be a one-of-a-kind dance extravaganza packed with more than 50 years of his music, surprise celebrity guests and a variety of other interactive enter-tainment, including photo booths, auctions and a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to Twist on stage with Chubby.
The event was created by music industry veteran and founder of the Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa brand, Howard “Perl” Perlmuter, as a fresh alternative to traditional fundraising. It is being presented by The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa, Ganley Subaru of Bedford, Ganley Volkswagen of Bedford, and Hotcards.
According to promoter Bruce Reiner, “At 73 years of age, Chubby’s show is still one of the best in the business. The only sitting this crowd will be doing is at the slot machines in the casino after the show!
“Never before have Clevelanders had the opportunity to be entertained by a legend and to save the animals of their community with the same dollar,” says Anna Marie Velasquez, marketing director of Rescue Village. “Each ticket sold will make a huge difference for a pet in need.”
Tickets range from $39.50 to $115 and are on sale now at all Ticketmsater locations or at the Rocksino box office. For additional information on the event, including donation opportunities for those who may not be able to attend, visit rescueconcert.com.
